Championing Education

  • Engaging with Students: Municipal Government Week Visits

hese visits sparked meaningful conversations with students about topics like healthcare, housing, and transportation, giving them a chance to share their perspectives and ask thoughtful questions. Connecting with students in this way highlights the importance of their voices in shaping the future of our communities.

  • Advocating for the Programs Our Students Deserve

As a trustee, I am committed to championing initiatives that support all students' success. Whether it’s pushing for increased special education resources, enhancing mental health supports, or ensuring resources for our trades programs, my focus is on creating an inclusive, supportive environment that empowers every student to thrive.

  • Celebrating Achievements: Graduation Milestones

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is attending graduation ceremonies to honour our students' accomplishments. Seeing their pride, joy, and optimism for the future is a reminder of why I advocate for strong public education. It’s a privilege to join families and educators in celebrating these milestones that mark the beginning of bright new chapters in our students' lives.

Motion “that SEAC send a letter to the Ontario College of Teachers, with copies to the Minister of Education and the Minister of Colleges and Universities, requesting an update to the curriculum in Ontario’s Teacher’s Colleges to better meet the diverse needs of students with special education requirements.”
